Welcome to Tigers!
Hello and welcome to our Year 2 Tigers' class page.
Our Teacher is Mrs McCoulough and our Teaching Assistant is Kelly. We have lots of fun learning experiences planned for the Tigers this year and we are looking forward to a great year together.
Keep checking this page to see what we have been up to. We have now finished our baddies in stories topic and have started learning about The Great Fire of London.
The big question for our new topic is :
Can good things come out of terrible events?
P.E. is on Fridays so please encourage your child to bring their P.E Kits.
Each week we are working towards 100% attendance to receive a gold award.
If our class attendance is 98-99% we will receive the silver award.
If we have attendance of between 96-97% we will receive the bronze award.

Meet the Tigers
Santa came to Pinewood - December 2019
Yesterday we had a visit from Santa!! Everyone was so excited, we sang him some songs and told him what we would really like for Christmas. He knew that we had all been amazing this year so he had brought us a present and a chocolate.
Life Education Bus -December 2019
This afternoon we had a visit from Harriet and Harold the giraffe on the Life Education bus. Harriet was very impressed that we knew so many ways to keep our bodies fit and healthy. We also had a discussion about feelings and how we might deal with them. Before we left the bus we had a dance and said goodbye to Harold. 👋
A visit from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service - November 2019
Great Fire of London - November 2019
To introduce 'Great Fire of London' as our new topic we had Steve from Partake Theatre Company come into school to tell us about it. Everyone worked together to act it out with costumes, props and music. We have already learnt so much about this past event.
Children in Need - November 2019
We all had lots of fun supporting Children in Need! Each class joined in with 'Joe Wicks Big Move' which involved lots of morning exercise to get us ready for the day.
Everyone enjoyed dressing up and doing Pudsey activities in the afternoon.
What a fabulous afternoon of art! We learnt about Remembrance Day and looked at a painting by Georgia O’Keefe. We also made poppies to sell for a small donation on Friday - all donations will go towards the Poppy Appeal.
Wiggle Worms with Lydia - October 2019
Today we had a visitor in school called Lydia who taught us lots of information about worms and how they help to recycle our fruit waste.
We then explored in the compost to see what we could find.
Beauty and the Beast pantomime - October 2019
Interviewing characters from Little Red Riding Hood - September 2019
PE with Mr Andrews - September 2019
We have a new PE coach called Mr Andrews. Everyone had lots of fun playing games and learning new skills.
Our visiting story teller - September 2019
We really enjoyed our story time with Sam from Mansfield Palace Theatre today. Everyone helped to act out the story of Little Red Riding Hood using their bodies to be different characters and objects. We had lots of fun!
We love reading on our library bus! -
Art - September 2019
As part of our eco job in school we fill up the bird feeders each week. In our classroom we have made a fantastic display. We worked together to collage and paint the trunk and branches of the tree.
