Performance Data

Although our latest Ofsted was conducted in 2009, it makes us extra vigilant with quality assurance programmes firmly embedded across school to ensure highest of educational standards, leading to best possible outcomes for all our children. Even though the inspection framework has changed considerably since 2009, school self-evaluation and monitoring provide evidence that we really would still hope for enough evidence for an outstanding judgement. A curriculum review visit from the LA 2021-22 stated that, "Other leaders and staff from other schools would benefit from working with this school." Ofsted have confirmed that we will be inspected before January 2024.

Progress is excellent across school from children’s starting points and our children achieve well.

Our most recent data from 2023 shows that our Year 2 children achieved significantly higher than the National Average in reading, writing and mathematics as can be seen below:

Reading:              Pinewood 79.2%         LA 68.7%          National 68%

Writing:                Pinewood 73.6%         LA 60.9%          National 60%

Mathematics:       Pinewood 83%            LA 72.4%          National 70%

In Year 1 children undertake a phonics screening test. Our children perform very well in this and have been consistently higher that National and the LA over many years. Our most recent phonics data from 2023 is as follows:

Year 1 Phonics:                     Pinewood 84%           LA 80.4%           National 79%

Year 2 Phonics Re-check:     Pinewood 80%           LA 60%              National 59%

All Pupils at end of Year 2:    Pinewood 98.1%        LA 90.1%           National 89%
