Welcome to our class page. We are the Nursery and we have an AM and a PM session each day. Our Teacher is Miss Reilly and our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Anthony, Miss Ashmore, Mrs Holmes and Tracy. Naomi and Sarah look after us at lunchtime and Tracy also looks after us in breakfast club. We have lots of fun every day and if you want to see what we have been up to and what we have been learning about then keep checking this page.
Meet the super team!
We’ve adopted a penguin! We really enjoyed learning about penguins and where they live. We had a class vote to decide which animal to adopt and then another class vote to decide on the perfect penguin name. He is called Preston!
We don’t let a lot of rain and a flooded playground stop from us having fun! 💧🌊☔️💦
Our amazing art exhibition! The children in Foundation 1&2 have worked incredibly hard over the last five weeks creating art work based around our big question “How does your garden grow?” We held an art exhibition on the last day of term to showcase our masterpieces. Thank you so much for coming along!
Our Pinewood Fit-A-Thon! We took part in a dance-a-thon, obstacle course and walking a mile. Thank you to everyone who sponsored us and helped us to raise money for school. We had so much fun!
We’ve planted our own beanstalks! We’ve been watering them and taking care of them whilst watching them grow.
We’ve been learning about the life cycle of a frog. We visited our pond daily to see that changes that were taking place and were so excited when we found tadpoles!
We’ve welcomed our new children to the Kittens 🐱
We’ve been learning about where milk comes from and all about dairy farms. We used milk and ice cream to make the most yummy strawberry and banana milkshakes today! We followed the instructions and the list of ingredients and watched them mix together in the blender. We all tasted them and some of us even had seconds! 😋🍌🍓
Red Nose Day
World Book Day fun...
We’ve been handling the chicks this morning. We looked closely at them and identified their features. Their feet were so spiky and so were their beaks, but their feathers were so fluffy! We thought it was so funny when they kept dropping to sleep in our hands. 🐥
Hatching chicks time lapse video
We set the iPad up last night to capture the rest of our chicks hatching. The video is a time-lapse so has been sped up to condense 14 hours into 28 seconds! 🐣🐥
We’ve named our first chick! The children came up with suggested names, we chose the 4 most popular and then each chose our favourite from the 4. Our chick is called ‘Choggers’ after our very own Charlie Hogg 🙊🐥
Chick, chick, chick, chick, chicken...
Our website photographer took some incredible pictures of the Kittens...
We made gingerbread men!
We have loved getting to know our new children 😁💚
Fun at our Christmas party 🥳
A very special visit from Santa Claus 🎅
Our Christmas Play
Remembrance Day - We loved learning about this very special day. We made our own poppies out of playdough, using paint, tissue and pipe cleaners and made a huge poppy with our handprints too!
Our colour day - We launched our colour topic by coming to school dressed in our favourite colours and took part in lots of colourful activities. We also created a huge rainbow to transform our classroom.
We went on an Autumn walk up to the Hobbucks. We looked at our environment and the changes that have been taking place. We collected Autumn treasure for our investigation spot tray and enjoyed some yummy hot chocolate and marshmallows to warm us up!
Diwali celebrations - We have absolutely loved learning about Diwali! We made Diva lamps, Rangoli patterns, learnt about the story of Rama and Sita and learnt a Diwali song too!
Fun on our library bus!
We planted garlic today! We’re going to make our own garlic butter and garlic bread when it’s ready!
Vegetable Soup - We harvested our own vegetables from our mini allotment, washed them, chopped them and made our very own vegetable soup, it was so yummy!
