Kittens - Foundation 1

Welcome to the Kittens!

Welcome to our class page. We are the Nursery and we have an AM and a PM session each day, and some of our children stay all day. Our Teacher is Miss Reilly and our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Anthony, Tracy, Anne-Marie and Sarah. We have lots of fun every day and if you want to see what we have been up to and what we have been learning about then keep checking this page.

Meet the super team!

We’ve been so busy planting and looking after our fruits, vegetables and flowers. We have planted carrots, strawberries, peas, tomatoes, sunflowers and herbs. We keep watering them and make sure they have enough sunlight and we can’t wait to see how they grow!

Making the most of the sunshine ☀️

We loved Diwali day! We watched a PowerPoint presentation all about the celebration and then we read the story of Rama and Sita. We loved all the jewellery that Sita wore and we made our own sparkly bracelets to be just like her. We looked at some beautiful rangoli patterns and then created our own out of playdough and sequins and some with glue and glitter. We borrowed Miss Otter’s Diwali box and looked at the special clothing that is worn and Mrs Anthony tried it on, she looked amazing! We sang a Diwali song too, it was such a busy day!

We loved learning about Remembrance Day. We watched a PowerPoint presentation explaining all about it. We created our own tissue paper poppies to wear and painted poppies, as well as printed our hands to create a large poppy wreath. We took part in the two minutes silence at 11:00am and sat so quietly! We loved listening to the last post at the end too!

We launched our topic “What is your favourite colour” by having a colour day in school. We dressed in our favourite colours and made rainbows!

We are having so much fun making friendships and settling in to our new school routines 😊 - September 2020
