    Appointed 05.06.23

    Staff Governor

    Term: 05/06/23 - 04/06/27

Hello everyone, I am Mrs Symmons and I am the Senco and Deputy Head Teacher at Pinewood.

I have been in education for the past 24 years with the past 17 in different senior leader roles. I really have a passion to continue to learn, collaborate and challenge my thinking and being part of the governing body offers so much of this.

I really believe that education is so important – it gives the academic, practical and creative tools to question and engage with what the world’s all about.  To have an impact on the next generation is something I value greatly, and I wanted to become involved to offer this at Pinewood.  I feel that my expertise can help challenge ourselves to provide the very best education for our children – I want to make a tangible impact and ultimately being motivated to help our pupils and community aspire and fulfil their ambitions!!

I lived for many years local to Arnold and now live in village life, with my husband, two girls, 16 and 12 and Charlie our dog. I love nothing better than to get out and about; that might be cycling, walking Charlie or skiing (or at least attempting to!!).

As a family we love to spend time at the beach locally and in sunnier places and of course we can always be found eating chips along with the odd ice cream or two or three….!!!

I feel very lucky to be part of the Pinewood family.
