Pupil mental health and wellbeing is really important to us at Pinewood, This year, we have a fabulous group of Wellbeing Champions. They were voted for by their class and chosen for their desire to help others. They really care about the school and the other children. Their role is to support their classes and teachers by sharing wellbeing ideas.
We will meet through the term to discuss wellbeing in school and to complete some special projects. Our champions will be doing great things in our school for Mental Health and Wellbeing.

We have had a focus on each class having a feelings box which, the children can use to share how they are feeling. This has been linked with work, on the Zones of regulation. We held a ‘World Mental Health Day’ on the 10th of October 2024
November 2024
This month saw Anti Bullying week celebrated in our assemblies as we looked at the difference between being unkind and bullying, friendship and kindness. We also celebrated the freedom to be who we are, embraced our
differences and shared how to be kind to each other.
Our 'Odd socks day' was a great success!!
February 2025
This month we took part in Children's Mental Health Week. We all did an activity based around 'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself'. We also held a 'Wear your scarf to school day' on the last day of the week. It was lovely to get children, staff and parents on board!!
March 2025
In March, we went around the classrooms, checking that all year groups have the 'Zones of regulation' up in their classroom and a feelings box. The children were very articulate and knew what both of those resources are for. It was lovely to hear that teachers are using these to talk to the children about their emotions too!
