At the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) there is a statutory national assessment undertaken and we are compared as a school against others nationally and within the LA. In 2025:

Within Year 1 children undertake a statutory phonics screening test. Our children perform very well in this and have been considerably higher than National and the LA in 4 out of the past 5 years. Our most recent phonics data from 2025 is as follows:

If children do not pass the phonics screening test in Year 1, they are required to retake this statutory test in Year 2. In 2022, 2023 and 2024 we have been consistently higher than national in this retake. In 2025 due to a high level of additional need within the cohort, we were below the LA average:
