Although our latest Ofsted was conducted in 2009, it makes us extra vigilant with quality assurance programmes firmly embedded across school to ensure highest of educational standards, leading to best possible outcomes for all our children. School self-evaluation and monitoring (both internal and external) provide evidence that we would still hope for an outstanding judgement.
Progress is excellent across school from children’s starting points. We do not have progress data for 2019-20 due to the Coronavirus pandemic but 2019 National and LA performance data is available:
Results at the end of KS1 2019 when the Year 2 children leave Pinewood:
Reading
We achieved above the National average in reading at the end of 2019 and 2018. We were also above Local Authority average and the Gedling School average in Reading for those 2 years.
Writing
Writing was above above national in 2019 and in line with national 2018. We were above the Local Authority average and above other Gedling schools in those years.
Maths
We were very slightly above national in 2018 and slightly below in 2019. This is echoed in how we compared to the LA in both those years.
Children achieving greater depth in each areas also perform well, particularly in reading.
We generally perform above national in Y1 phonics screening.
